The 36th SGH Cancer Research Grants Presentation Ceremony, the 6th SGH Cancer Nursing Research Grants Presentation Ceremony, and the 22th SGH Special Award, SGH Special Nursing Award Ceremony were held in Kyoto on Saturday, November 30, 2024.
This fiscal year, following careful screening by the judges, 25 recipients were chosen from among 198 applicants, including universities, research institutions, and medical institutions from across Japan, for SGH Cancer Research Grants (2 million yen/grant, for a total of 50 million yen) and 12 recipients were chosen from among 18 applicants, including universities, research institutions, and medical institutions from across Japan, for SGH Cancer Nursing Research Grants (500,000 yen/grant, for a total of 6 million yen).

In addition, as SGH Special Awards 5 million yen and the Kuriwada Eiichi a prize (a bronze sculpture by the sculptor Chizuko Sasado, titled “希望” [“Kibou”]) and the SGH Special Nursing Award of 1 million yen and the Kuriwada Eiichi prize (a bronze sculpture by the sculptor Chizuko Sasado, titled “悠” [“Yuu”]) were presented to winners who have made marked contributions to the progress of cancer research and nursing and were expected to continue to contribute in the future.
