DatesSaturday, October 29 – Monday, October 31, 2016
LocationsKyoto Prefecture, Shiga Prefecture

A social gathering for scholarship students (from the 30th and 31st classes of recipients) was held over a three-day period from October 29th to October 31th, 2016. The students visited the Sagawa Art Museum in Moriyama, Shiga Prefecture, where they had the opportunity to view works of Japanese painting (by Mr. Ikuo Hirayama), sculpture (by Mr. Tadayoshi Sato), and ceramics (by Mr. Raku Kichizaemon). They also explored landmarks like Kiyomizu-dera and Gion, participating in activities such as wearing kimonos and trying their hand at making kaleidoscopes. These experiences allowed them to connect with Japanese traditions and culture.
